California-based design consultancy WATG has appointed a regional manager for the Middle East region.

The firm was the concept architect for Four Seasons Dubai, and has worked on Emirates Palace, Atlantis and the One & Only Royal Mirage.

Based in Dubai, Nasser Turk will support regional efforts to deliver design solutions to the firm’s clients in the Middle East.

Commenting on the appointment, Muriel Muirden, executive vice president and managing director strategy, WATG said: “The dynamic growth in the Gulf continues to impress.

“We want to continue to provide our clients in the region with WATG’s highest standards of design consultancy.

"We are very happy to have Nasser on board to strengthen our local team with his planning and urban design expertise.”

Turk is an established design consultant for mixed-used and resort master planning, urban design and new town and residential community planning.

Prior to his role at WATG, Turk worked as senior design consultant for the Abu Dhabi Municipality. He has 16 years’ industry experience in the UAE and the US, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in planning from Arizona State University.

Nasser is a member of the American Planning Association, and active with the Urban Land Institute.
