IVU's VegFest to debut in Middle East
MEVEG to host the 42nd VegFest in Dubai, alongside MENOPE 2014
Middle East Vegetarian Group (MEVEG) will be hosting the 42nd International Vegetarian Union World (IVU) VegFest in Dubai from November 25-27 at Dubai International Exhibition and Conferences Centre. The event is being organised by the volunteers of Middle East Veg Group (MEVEG) in Dubai.
IVU World VegFest will be held alongside the Middle East Natural and Organic Products Exhibition (MENOPE).
The three-day conference will be held for the first time in Dubai, aiming to promote healthier standards of vegan living, with presentations on the benefits of supporting natural, organic, raw, local, slow, and gluten free foods.
MEVEG founder Sandhya Prakash said: “Scientific studies and opinion show that a vegetarian diet significantly reduces the risk of many diseases including heart disease, diabetes, cancers and improved overall life expectancy rates. Vegetarianism also is the single most effective way to save our environment.
"This will remain the focus for this year’s conference delivered by people who have made a significant contribution to the Vegetarian movement.”
This year as a highlight, Nabati certificates will be awarded to organizations committed to being 100% vegetarian. Nabati means vegetarian in Arabic.
Around 300 global food industry experts, medical and environment professionals, students, teachers, women and chefs are expected to attend the World VegFest to interact and exchange ideas on the topics relevant to the present times.
