The Crystal Group, the Dubai based hospitality management company, has announced that it is to open five new F&B and entertainment concepts across Dubai and Abu Dhabi this year.

The new venues will include the 40Kong rooftop lounge in The H Hotel, Dubai; People Abu Dhabi nightclub in The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi; and a new, as yet unnamed, beach club that will be part of Rixos The Palm Dubai hotel; There will also be a Lebanese restaurant concept which will open in both The Address Downtown Dubai and the St. Regis Saadiyat hotels.

Speaking exclusively to Hotelier Middle East, The Crystal Group CEO and co-founder Mazen El Zein said: “The aim of our company is to create experiences that provide unforgettable memories, and we do that by always looking to create feature outstanding design, service, entertainment and in most of our products, except for the pure clubs, exceptional food and beverage.”

“I think that the Dubai market in the last two years has become increasingly competitive. In 2009 I would have been happy to open anything in Dubai. Nowadays, I have become very picky, and I will only open products that are not easily replicated,” he added.

The as yet unnamed beach club at the Rixos The Palm Dubai is to measure a total of 5000 square meters and hold a maximum of 2000 people. The club will also feature bungalows with private Jacuzzis, indoor and outdoor bars and a stage area for live shows, with the food and beverage focused around Mediterranean cuisine and seafood.

“In Dubai you can find lots of open air clubs on the beach, while there are lots of beach lounge areas with restaurants located in hotels, but I don’t believe that anyone has created the perfect mix between the two yet in Dubai. With the space we have, and because we have been able to design this from the ground up, we believe we can create a complete experience for guests from 11am to midnight,’ explained Mazen.

40Kong, which is located on the fortieth floor of The H Hotel is to feature low lounge areas and high-bar seating, with an uninterrupted view of the city.

“The food and beverage at 40kong is to be focused on international finger food,” said Mazen, “which will be based around a sharing concept. It won’t be a full dining experience, but it will have really good food from all over the world.”

Since its inception in 2003, The Crystal Group has created, designed, and operated over 15 restaurants, bars, clubs and beach retreat concepts in Lebanon, the UAE and Europe.

With the opening of its latest venues the UAE based hospitality group continues the expansion of its regional portfolio after their previous openings of Dubai venues People by Crystal, which opened in Dubai 2009, as well as the Japanese restaurant and lounge and Sake No Hana, which was opened in association with the Hakkasan Group in Dubai’s Souk al Bahar in May, 2013.
