F&B manager at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
What attracted you to the position of manager of F&B at this venue?
First, I was quite impressed by the ongoing and upcoming new projects of Dubai Golf. It is very exciting to be part of a pre-opening and to see what we can achieve in the future. Second, I love to play golf so it is always a pleasure for me to come to work every day.
What knowledge do you bring to the role at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club?
I have been working in the F&B industry for almost 10 years and I am passionate about gastronomy. Before joining the club, I was working at a five star property in Dubai. I am very focused on the details as well as service.
What are you most looking forward to as part of this new role?
In the short term, I really look forward to seeing whether our action plan to develop some venues will work. And for the long term, it is to see all the new projects coming out of that plan.
How do you intend to make the outlets more profitable?
We all think about profitability and we all want to achieve more than last year, but to be able to get that, the basics of our job must be done. If we take care of our team and if they learn from us they will be happy and motivated. If they are, they will take care of our guests and provide them with good service. Our guests will enjoy their time and they will come back. In conclusion, the most important thing is to be close with our colleagues to make sure we are all on the same page.
What is your favourite thing about the F&B venues on-site?
Honestly speaking, before I joined I had never been to any of the outlets at the club, but I have to admit that it was a mistake. For example Boardwalk, wow! There is no competitor for Boardwalk where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner on the pier with amazing views of the skylines from the renowned Dubai Creek. I also really like the ambiance at Legends, especially during Friday brunch. Dubai Golf Creek & Yacht Club owns five outlets (very soon six) with five different atmospheres.
Are there any exciting changes that you will be making that you can tell us about?
Exciting changes will include for sure the big opening of our new brand Cielo, a two-storey outlet offering tapas and Spanish cuisine on the first floor and a Sky Lounge on the roof top that comes with an amazing view. The Boardwalk has undergone a complete face lift and will soon open again with a mouthwatering menu that will cater to many different palates.
