Kempinski’s Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi has reported that it raised its room and suite rates by 26 percent in 2013.
Hotel management reported that revenue per available room (RevPar) at the iconic hotel reached one of its highest levels since the hotel was inaugurated in 2005.
Emirates Palace hotel manager Alexander Schneider said: “Despite the opening of many other luxury hotels and resorts in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace has continued to achieve a very high performance over the past years…this proves the hotel is able to maintain the momentum in its business and attract as many visitors as possible given our high level services,”
The hotel also revealed that part of its plans for 2014 involve upgrading some of the hotel facilities ahead of an anticipated rise in demand this year.
In addition, some of the upcoming events in Abu Dhabi that the hotel will be targeting include an energy summit, conferences and exhibitions, as well as hosting foreign football teams during this year’s training season.
The hotel has also disclosed plans for to begin cooperation between Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi-based twofour54 and the National Media Council to support the hosting of international movie productions in the hotel.
“We will soon embark on several projects with the aim to support the development of the film industry in Abu Dhabi. Emirates Palace is the only venue in the region qualified to offer a unique backdrop for film shootings and to curate a movie premiere screening in its auditorium at the same time,” said Schneider.
