Hilton Dubai Creek’s award-winning restaurant table 9's new chef patron, Darren Velvick, opened for his first night of service on January 9, 2014.

Replacing the successful out-going duo Nick Alvis and Scott Price, British-born Velvick came to table 9 directly from the Michelin-starred restaurant, Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley, in London’s Knightsbridge, and has more than 20 years’ experience working with some of the most distinguished chefs in the world.

“It is my first night in the kitchen with a full house and I am thrilled to finally introduce a new style of dining at table 9 that caters for first-timers and also long-time fans of bespoke dining," said Velvick.

He added: "We have a range of new dishes on offer, which are both imaginative and flexible, so whether our guests want a two-course meal or a six-course tasting menu, we have a range of options to satisfy all tastes. I look forward to putting my own spin on this known and much loved dining concept, and I am ready for the challenge."

With a brand new menu on offer, Velvick’s dishes include a twist on a classic roast chicken, stuffed with foie gras and truffles; a crab, pear and almond starter; and a delicious carrot cake.

Price and Alvis have moved to Albwardy Investments starting January 1, 2014.
