Ritz-Carlton, Dubai appoints new executive chef

The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai has appointed Eric Meloche as executive chef to oversee the hotel's re-launched international culinary team.

Meloche began his career with The Ritz-Carlton in Florida in 2003 and moved to the UAE after working in key positions at several Ritz-Carlton properties worldwide including Jamaica, USA, and Ireland, where he was responsible for the hotel's signature restaurant by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

The Ritz-Carlton Dubai general manager Raul Salcido added: “Under Eric’s leadership, we look forward to strengthening our status as one of the city’s premier dining destinations. Before the year winds down, we will be adding more dining venues to complement the enhanced resort experience. We are confident with Eric on board, the legacy of this resort as a must-visit gastronomic destination will be continued.”

As executive chef at the Ritz-Carlton, Dubai, Meloche will oversee the hotel’s culinary operations, including the outdoor venue La Baie Lounge, pan-Asian restaurant Blue Jade, Italian outlet Splendido, and as well Middle Eastern restaurant Amaseena.

Commenting on his appointment, Meloche said: “Dubai is truly an authentic gourmet destination with its constant hunger for new flavours and innovation. I was fortunate to travel to Dubai back in 2011 and was amazed by the quality and diversity of the culinary offerings here. I am excited to be joining The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai as it gives me the opportunity to add a new twist to the already renowned culinary offerings of the resort, and I look forward to working with a multicultural team that will cater to the most discerning gourmands of the city.”
