Paper Moon Milan will open two restaurants in Doha this September 2013; La Spiga by Paper Moon will open on the ground floor of W Doha to act as the third culinary venue in the hotel and Paper Moon will open at Jaidah Square.

Although both dining venues in Doha will be linked by Paper Moon’s trademark cuisine, each restaurant will cater to customers with varying preferences. Paper Moon will be aimed at Doha residents, leisure and business travellers, whilst La Spiga by Paper Moon will be more of an upbeat environment for an array of guests to mix and mingle.

W Doha Hotel & Residences' general manager Safak Guvenc said in a statement: "La Spiga by Paper Moon joins the W Doha’s already renowned food and beverage outlets - Market and Spice Market by celebrated chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten."

La Spiga by Paper Moon has taken a modern approach to Paper Moon’s concept with its sleek and sophisticated décor, including an iconic disco ball pizza oven with its bronze mosaic finish lit to give the diner the impression that it is spinning.

Conceived by international architects, United Designers of London, Italian-inspired décor, plush leather seating, dark wooden panels, bold purple backdrop and the signature Paper Moon ‘wall of fame’ showcasing familiar old school celebrity faces, blend together to create a vibrant  ambiance.

The restaurant has been designed to expose all of its functions; tinted yellow units enable the diner to see the kitchen and bar, including the crockery and food preparation which are also on display. Transparent cabinets on the wall are adorned with yellow boxes filled with wheat corns, a nod to the restaurant name – La Spiga.

Guvenc added: "Set to become the latest standout restaurant in Doha, Paper Moon will ignite the senses, inspired by the heritage and dining culture of the Northern Italy. It is the perfect culinary match for W Doha, with its reputation for offering guests and Doha residents the most memorable experiences in town."

Executive chef Alessio Dussi and his team have created a menu that will feature a range of epicurean offerings using only the freshest of ingredients. Diners will explore light and tasty antipasti, risottos, pastas, pizzas and the best cuts of meat and quality seafood available, with an emphasis on premium ingredients inspired by the simplicity of Italian flavours.

The inspiration behind the launch was to transport the authentic details of Paper Moon, a family run Italian restaurant that first opened in Via Bagutta, Milan, to the setting of W Doha.
