Four Points by Sheraton Bur Dubai officially launched Portuguese restaurant Picante last night (January 30).

The 120-cover rustic restaurant includes both indoor and al fresco dining, as well as an elegant poolside bar.

Picante is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, serving a selection of classic Portuguese cuisine available from an extensive a la carte menu.

Typical dishes include Seafood cataplana; a popular dish from the Algarve that includes fresh shrimp, squid and mussels cooked in spices and served with rice. Another seafood-inspired dish available is Amejioas a moda Algarvia; a bowl of steamed clams in a white grape and garlic sauce, and not forgetting the Frango Piri Piri; a signature chicken dish marinated in a homemade Piri Piri sauce.

Chef de Cuisine Luis Salgueiro, who has joined Picante directly from his native country, Portugal, will create and prepare authentic cuisine using his experience and accomplished culinary skills.

Sanjeev Gohlan, general manager at Four Points by Sheraton Bur Dubai, commented: "With chef Luis joining us from Portugal Picante will encompass the true flavours from the country’s rich and full-flavoured cuisine. Guests will experience Portuguese dining at its finest with excellent quality ingredients, attentive service, and exceptional value for money.”
