Shaza Hotels unveils luxury resort in Oman

Works to begin on Salalah beach resort in Q4 of 2012, due to open 2016

Shaza Hotels has unveiled plans for Shaza Salalah - a luxury beach resort in Salalah, Oman.

The development was launched at a signing ceremony by Shaza Hotels CEO Simon Coombs and Taameer Investments CEO Suleiman Al Harthy.

The resort is designed to cater to families, honeymooners, and the luxury traveller, the company said in a statement.

Located on the beach and adjacent to a protected mangrove habitat, Shaza Salalah will feature a Presidential Villa, 80 luxury villas with private pools, 80 furnished hotel apartments and 130 hotel rooms facing the Indian Ocean, many of which have their own private ‘sky pool’.

The property will also unveil the largest luxury ballroom in Salalah, as well as retail outlets and two specialty restaurants.

Construction will begin in Q4 of 2012 and the resort is expected to open in 2016.

Shaza Hotels CEO, Simon Coombs said the company was proud to bring its vision to Oman.

“Shaza Salalah will be a resort that is married with nature and will be a window for the world to experience the best of Salalah – which is one of its kind in the entire Arabian Peninsula,” he continued.

 

“We are also very proud to have found the right partners for this luxury resort development. We believe Taameer Investment have the vision and the development experience to see this resort to fruition and bring the world to Salalah.”

 

Shaza Salalah is a development by Taameer Investment, its CEO, Suleiman Al Harthy adding that Salalah had so far been Oman’s “best kept secret”.

“I firmly believe Shaza Salalah will enhance the luxury travel experience not only in Salalah but the entire Sultanate of Oman by setting a new benchmark,” he said.

“Ultimately, our goal is to invite the world to experience the legendary Omani hospitality, and the natural beauty that Salalah is gifted with. Shaza Salalah is the first step forward in that vision.”
