Experience-led travel club to launch in 2020
Dubai-based The Peaks aims to offer members bespoke holidays at discounted rates
Travel club, The Peaks aims to offer a new take on luxury travel by allowing members to explore boutique and bespoke experiences at discounted rates both around the world and close to home.
Offering members the chance to enjoy hotels, privately-owned villas and experiences, The Peaks’ collection has been created to fulfill members’ desires to travel frequently and spend less. The club swaps traditional five-star properties with boutique hotels and stuffy restaurants take a back seat to hidden gems and personalised services.
The first home-grown travel club in the GCC, members can consult The Peaks Plans for first-hand information and advice on each destination, covering everything from driver recommendations and tour guides to cafes and shopping suggestions. With the help of local gurus at each of its handpicked hotels, The Peaks Plans covers all the essentials at each destination.
Speaking to Hotelier Middle East, co-founder Maryanne Haggas said: “Arguably the most significant trend today, not only in the UAE but worldwide tourism, is the demand for experiential travel, typically meant to convey the idea of more immersive, unique, boutique, local, authentic, adventurous and/or active travel. We have found through our research that people want to travel better, on a deeper emotional and more personal level – this is the new kind of ‘luxury’ travel. It seems that consumers in growing numbers are shying away from the pre-packaged travel brochure and travel agents and instead are looking for services and companies that support, without bringing too much structure to any trip or holiday.
“This is where I see The Peaks stepping in. Luxury travel is about more than just five-star hotels and fine dining. More and more we are not seeking opulence nor do we want to wear dinner jackets and high heels on our holidays. Indulging in luxury travel for its own sake is no longer enough. Customers want experiences mixed with memories. We are here to help our members make the most of their time because we know time is the ultimate luxury. Every club has its purpose, ours is to offer you a peak into new luxury.”
The first six months of membership is free and in addition, The Peaks Perks unlocks offers for its members, giving them access to partners’ discounted products and services.
For travellers who become members before the club’s official launch, The Peaks is giving away a three-night stay with Teardrop Hotels in Sri Lanka. People simply have to sign up for free via www.wearethepeaks.com, tag their travel companions and like and follow The Peaks across social media.
The Peaks will go live on January 1 2020.
