Bahrain's Gulf Air unveils new European flight destinations for 2020

Gulf Air, Bahrain's national carrier, has revealed new additions to its 2020 network with three popular business and leisure destinations, sister publication Arabian Business reported.

The airline said it will start flights to Milan in Italy from July using a new Airbus A321neo, and both Munich in Germany and Mykonos in Greece on a seasonal basis from July to September with four and three weekly flights respectively.

Due to its popularity this summer, Malaga flights will be resumed during summer 2020 with two weekly flights and Salalah will be reinstated during the same period with three weekly flights.

The announcement was made at the World Travel Market 2019 in London.

Gulf Air’s CEO Krešimir Kucko said: “Focal and balanced expansion into Europe for 2020 is aimed to support the strong infrastructure in tourism and trade.

“It is with great enthusiasm we announce our flights to Milan and Munich which both are very popular to our worldwide customer base for leisure and business travel. Mykonos will also be a great boutique seasonal summer destination in Greece catering to the growing demand to experience this beautiful island and its luxurious resorts during the summer holiday.

"As our fleet expands and with the arrival of our new Airbus A321neo and more Dreamliners next year, we can now reach further places and serve more long haul regions.”

Gulf Air has started its fleet modernisation program and received seven new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and four Airbus 320neo aircraft during 2018 and 2019.

Today, Gulf Air serves 48 cities in 27 countries.
