Since the launch of Time Hotels in 2012, the brand has grown from its UAE base to develop a portfolio of multi-level branded properties with upcoming projects also set to open in Dubai, Sharjah and Saudi Arabia this year as well as extending its presence to Egypt. Earlier this year, Time Hotels announced the signing of a new agreement to operate Dunes Hotel Apartments’ three properties located in Al Barsha, Al Qusais and Oud Metha further reinforcing its growth strategy to expand its footprint in the UAE.
In April 2019, Time Hotels opened Time Dammam Residence in Saudi Arabia, a property that features 28 fully furnished and equipped apartments comprising four one-bedroom units and 24 two-bedroom units. The property also offers self-catering solutions and is located 35 minutes from King Fahad International Airport. In the third quarter of 2019, Time Hotels will debut the Time Express Hotels brand with the opening of a three-star property in Sharjah. Time Hotels witnessed a year-on-year growth of 7.8%, with profit up 15% as of June 2019.
In line with its expansion in the Middle East and Northern Africa, the brand has also relocated its Central Reservations Office (CRO) to Cairo, centralising the company’s sales and procurement offices. The new CRO will manage the room inventories for all hotels as well as coordinating and managing all reservations and providing up-to-date rates and availability for various distribution channels including Time Hotels’ online booking engine, its global distribution system, and online travel agents.
Having been a CEO for seven years, Awadalla worked to establish the umbrella or holding brand and to launch the Time Hotels’ subsidiary brands to the market to attract investors and trade interest. This, coupled with the brand’s growth from two properties to six in less than a year and to 17 properties at present, is something that he regards as a marker of both personal and professional success.
