Celeb chef Jamie Oliver’s UK restaurant chain collapses, Dubai outlet to stay

The collapse will result in the loss of 1,000 jobs

Celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver’s restaurant chain in the UK has collapsed.

A total of 22 of the group's 25 restaurants have closed and 1,000 jobs have been lost in the process.

However, media in Dubai has reported that this will not affect Oliver's’s restaurant — Oliver’s Pizzeria — but his two previous Jamie's Italian concepts in Dubai have previously permanently closed.

The anti-junk food campaigner said that he was devastated that the business was “placed under administration”.

He tweeted: “I’m devastated that our much-loved UK restaurants have gone into administration. I am deeply saddened by this outcome and would like to thank all of the people who have put their hearts and souls into this business over the years.”
