Dur Hospitality's Dr. Badr steps down as CEO
The resignation was due to 'personal reasons' and he will 'pursue alternative responsibilities'
Dur Hospitality’s Dr. Badr bin Hamoud Al Badr has resigned from his position as CEO after more than seven years, according to a statement from the company.
The resignation was submitted following a meeting with the company’s board of directors on 17 April 2019, and will come to effect from 30 June 2019.
Dr. Badr resigned due to personal reasons and will pursue alternative responsibilities, the statement said.
The board of directors expressed their appreciation towards Dr. Badr for his contributions to Dur Hospitality and active participation towards enhancing the company’s brand and strategy.
Dur Hospitality’s current portfolio includes 1,415 rooms, with another 1176 in the pipeline, following the recent signing of Makarem Sagryah.
Makarem Hotels, Dur Hospitality’s brand tailor-made for pilgrims visiting Mecca and Madina, aims to operate 5000 rooms by 2023.
