Marriott signs multi-year deal with online travel agency Expedia
The month-long negotiations had started in November in 2018
Hotel giant Marriott International has reportedly signed an agreement with online travel agency Expedia.
The month-long negotiations that started in November 2018 will give Marriott more control over their distribution relations with Expedia.
According to the deal, Marriott users across the world can now make bookings on Expedia.
This agreement comes after Marriott became the largest hotel company in the world after acquiring Starwood Hotels and Resorts in 2016. While the rate of commission hasn’t been disclosed, Marriott’s expansion could help them get much lower rates on the website.
According to a report by CNBC, Marriott and Expedia also plan to launch an arrangement that deals with ‘more than just last-minute bookings’.
