Hotels focused on 'wrong things' in technology

I don't agree with this at all. Let me have the evidence for the contention. Empirically, in the YUK at any rate, most travellers are booking hotels exactly the way they did 5 years ago, using OTA's direct hotel website channels, GDS &c The problem is that technology is driving the industry, (or thinks it is) not the other way round, we're producing more and more useless technology every day, from geeks who don't know the meaning of the word 'usability' Travel is a simple, enjoyable sector made difficult, rather than simpler, by technology.

I believe that hoteliers are not focusing enough resources on conversion tactics but rather taking the more costly and often times easier route of driving traffic and playing the percentage numbers game. Paul Richer, I couldn't agree more that hoteliers need to convey sufficiently interesting information about the hotel so the shopper is persuaded to book. Making all of the information that a shopper needs (textual, visual and richer visual content that tells a story) available on all the channels used to shop for hotels helps drive improved conversion

It is not necessary that everyone should agree one viewpoint, they might might taken some statistics which may not cover each every category of hotel which they are talking about. It is not easy to generalize any statement in this fast changing world and with the rapid change of technology. They might have come across some hotels which fits their thought
