Simon Casson has been promoted to president of Four Seasons for Europe, Middle East & Africa.

In 2013, Casson took on the roles of regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, before which he was the GM of the Four Seasons Hotel Doha and led the pre-opening team.

Casson will now be transitioning to the position over the next few months, as incumbent Christian Clerc is set to return to the US as president of Four Seasons there.

Christian Clerc told Hotelier Middle East: "We have an incredible collection of hotels in the EMEA region and I'm so proud of all that we've been able to achieve here, including our most recent openings in the UAE- our beautiful hotels in DIFC and Abu Dhabi. As of August 1, I will be taking on the role of president hotel operations Americas - our largest region including North, Central and South America, as well as our resorts in Hawaii and Bora Bora."

"I will be leaving EMEA in the capable hands of Simon Casson - currently regional vice president for Four Seasons Resort Dubai - who will move from Jumeirah Beach to DIFC in August,"  Clerc concluded.

In an email, Casson said he feels "privileged to lead in the years ahead", and revealed that the company is working on the appointment of his successor at the Four Seasons Resort at Jumeirah Beach.

Hotelier Middle East is in the process of contacting Casson for further comment.
