The Istanbul property's Hyatt Pure Gaia Spa was cited as one of the elements marking the property out for the change to Grand Hyatt.
International hotel group Hyatt Hotels and Resorts has announced its Hyatt Regency Istanbul property will become the Grand Hyatt Istanbul as of December 1.
The brand change has reportedly been affected to “align the property with the other 34 Grand Hyatt hotels around the world”.
The group’s managing director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Gebhard Rainer, said: “Our property in Istanbul reflects all the elements of a Grand Hyatt hotel, based on its luxurious setting, excellent service and dining, and its renowned Hyatt Pure Gaia Spa.
“As expansion of the hotel continues into 2011 with the restaurant slated for renovation, Grand Hyatt Istanbul will prove to be similar in its scope and services to our Grand Hyatt properties around the world.”
