Emirates' A380 is to serve the French capital from February 1 next year
An Emirates' A380 super jumbo is to serve Paris from February 1, 2010, a year earlier than anticipated.
The French capital is the latest destination to be added to the list of gateways served by Emirates' double-decker. It currently flies to Bangkok, Toronto, London and Auckland.
"This is really great news for us to bring the A380 to Paris and is a result of such encouraging sales in and out of Paris Charles de Gaulle," said Emirates Airline president Tim Clark.
"Our plans to introduce this exceptional aircraft have been accelerated by almost a year which, in the current economic climate, is a major achievement."
Features onboard the A380 include shower spas and first and business class lounges.
Currently, Emirates operates a double daily service to Paris with a range of Boeing 777 aircraft. A Boeing 777-300 airplane has capacity for 436 passengers. The A380 is the world’s largest passenger jetliner, capable of carrying more than 850 passengers in economy-class alone.
Emirates holds the record for the world's largest order of Airbus A380s with five in its fleet and a further 53 double-deckers to be delivered.
