DXB Entertainments, Dubai-based leisure and entertainment firm, and Merlin Entertainments Group, theme park and attraction operator, are developing the Middle East’s first Legoland Hotel.
The hotel will open at Dubai Parks and Resorts, adjacent to the existing Legoland Dubai theme park, according to Dubai Media Office.
The Legoland Dubai Hotel is a 60:40 joint venture between DXB Entertainments and Merlin Entertainments, and will be operated by Merlin Entertainments once opened.
The 250-room hotel will have themed rooms and be built on approximately 2.8ha of land.
Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi, CEO of DXB Entertainments, said: “The addition of a Lego themed hotel at Dubai Parks and Resorts will bring the total hospitality offering at the destination to over 750 rooms.
“We are very pleased to partner with Merlin Entertainments to deliver a fun-filled and convenient place for families to stay as well as long-term value to our shareholders.”
John Jakobsen, chief new openings officer at Merlin Entertainments added: “Themed accommodation is an increasingly important part of the holiday and short-break visit, and we’re delighted to continue our partnership with DXB with the development of this hotel.”
