The bar team from Trader Vic's Souk Madinat claimed the Bar Team of the Year gong at the Caterer Awards Middle East.
Commenting on the win, RMAL Hospitality chief operating officer Toufic Khattar said: "I’m very proud of the team and their achievement. They’ve been working very hard to achieve the award and they are all very happy to work within the team and serve the clients."
The Trader Vic's team impressed the judges with their consistent service, and continued success.
Bar manager Anjula Perera, who started at the outlet 10 years ago believes teamwork is one of the strongest assets for the bar. Oe weekends, every mixologist can prepare up to 600 cocktails in one night, at a rate of two cocktails per minute for five continuous hours.
Maintaining consistency is key in such conditions, and Perera said they do this by constant training.
The Trader Vic's team was presented the award by Kenny Bruce from Pulsar Foodstuff, a support sponsor.
Other contenders for the award included Jazz Bar at Hilton Abu Dhabi; Qbara Restaurant, Bar and Lounge, The Music Room at Majestic Hotel Tower; The Pearl Lounge at Doha Marriott Hotel; and The Ivy Dubai, which walked away with the Highly Commended title.
The Caterer Middle East Awards were held at Atlantis, The Palm on June 10.
