The four-star independent Mafraq Hotel in Abu Dhabi hotel has appointed Mario Scotto as its new general manager.
Scotto, who joined the 250-room Mafraq in October 2012, has a total of 36 years hospitality experience in Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining Mafraq, he was group general manager at the Safeer Hotel Group in Oman, Muscat as well as holding positions at the City Seasons Hotel Group and Flora Hotel Group in Dubai.
“I’m very excited to be joining Mafraq as the new General Manager and look forward to working with the hotel team to build on Mafraq’s success in the industry. This is a very exciting time for the property and I’m delighted to be onboard,” said Scotto.
Mafraq Hotel is due to celebrate its first anniversary this January. It boasts five F&B outlets including two restaurants and three bars. The hotel also has business and conferencing facilities consisting of six meeting rooms, a ballroom that can hold up to 600 people and a health club consisting of temperature controlled pools, indoor squash and badminton courts, outdoor tennis and volleyball courts and the Serenity Zone that includes sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, massage treatments and massage showers.
