Dubai's La Petite Maison and Zuma have won places in 2012's San Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurants - a list compiled by Restaurant Magazine and seen as one of the definitive international restaurant guides.

Put together by an "academy" of more than 800 judges around the world, the list places Zuma at number 83, and La Petite Maison at 96.

Ajaz Sheikh, Zuma director of operations for the Middle East, commented: “We are so proud and totally humbled by this recognition and the support of the judging panel.

"We are also excited to be the highest placed restaurant from the region and to help place the Middle East on the international culinary circuit. It really does mean the world to us.”

Zuma, the contemporary Japanese restaurant which opened in 2008, and La Petite Maison, which opened in 2010 and serves traditional French fare, are both located in Dubai International Financial Centre.
