The global trend to ramp up F&B outlets in art spaces such as galleries and museums is taking off in the Middle East, said Mike Caldicott, managing director of foodservice consultancy, Tricon.
Tricon, which has offices in London and Dubai, is advising on F&B outlets in the upcoming Zayed National Museum – Abu Dhabi, UAE, which is due to open in 2016.
“Generally, the arts and culture sector has woken up to the idea that if you can do F&B well, it can generate a significant income stream for the business,” said Caldicott.
Renowned chef Alain Ducasse is expected to soon open a restaurant in the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha.
