What has made you stay with IHG?
I have been loyal to IHG for several reasons; the most important one is the people. This is what has inspired me since the very beginning all the way until the present day. IHG invests in people by engaging them in future planning, and providing them with training programmes and the opportunities to grow.

What is Crowne Plaza Beirut’s USP?
Crowne Plaza Beirut is unique in terms of its location, being ideally located in the authentic and dynamic street of Hamra surrounded by lots of shopping centres, restaurants, cafes, night spots, universities and cultural and financial organisations.

It attracts businessmen, and medium to large groups coming for business purposes, fulfilling their meeting requirements since our hotel has nine meeting rooms and special facilities for businessmen.

What are your most important customer markets?
Our market is predominantly from the Near East and the Gulf Region. Business travellers, MICE and tourism are what we mainly concentrate on. However, the tourist business is something we would like to grow and I am sure with further local and regional stability, this sector will be more consolidated.

How is business going at the moment?
Our hotel is a busy one and focus is always on driving occupancy. We are aware that bookings to Beirut differ highly throughout the seasons, and this is why we have decided to position our sales and marketing efforts to expose Beirut to the outside world as an attractive and unforgettable destination for their stay.

What are your plans for the hotel in the next few years?
The mission statement of my new appointment firmly focuses on guest satisfaction and safety, and seeks to perfect our services through the implementation of the IHG standards, mission and values. We have had a successful soft renovation during 2011 and this will give an added value to our guests.
