“RPL is a process that might save a person time as well as money in completing a certificate or diploma program and it is a method that is approved under the Australian Qualifications Framework, to establish competency against a set of national standards, using a range of alternative assessment criteria,” the company said in a statement.

“RPL is the acknowledgement of a person's current skills and knowledge acquired through previous training, work or life experience no matter how, when or where the learning has occurred through formal or informal training, work experience (paid or unpaid) and these skills and knowledge need not have been gained in formal education setting.”

AHSR plans to target both individuals working in the hospitality industry who have the experience, but do not have the qualifications and also individuals who have qualifications from their home countries but seek an internationally recognised qualification.
